Be Gracious

Painting's done in Photoshop. I wanted to make a very expressive and beautiful smile. I loved the cap she is wearing and it's winter time so it looked very warm and appealing to me. So I decided to paint this. I hope you like it.

WIP stages of Lady with her bike.

This was the reference image that inspire me to do the painting. I was searching for a girl with a bike. Also I didn't have to draw the whole bike. So this was perfect. haha!! :)
I was looking for a different hair style so this was quite what I came up with. Also I tweaked the pose a bit.

Painted with the base colors. As well as painted a basic light and shadow in different layer as the image below.
Shadow layer.

Merge them all and adding more details to the face and hairs. And now I take a break here.

I wanted the face to be more highlighted..So I was trying some gradient layer with different opacity modes.
more details.. also added another layer with wall texture. Just to have some texture overall.
merge down all layers, did some overall CC. And..that is it!! :)

Lady with her bicycle

It took me around 10 hours to complete this painting. I might post all different WIP stages of this painting in my next post.

Acting in Rango and The Legend of the Guardians.

The point the I am trying to make is to get great acting choices. It's always nice that we act it out in different ways. Exploring all kinds of possibilities in the acting and combine them with all the best choices that we find in those references. Act it out. That's the fast way to explore different ideas.
Here is the another good video showing animators exploring the acting choices.

Something That I Want

Looks like this music video was shorted inside Disney Animation Studio. And with many artist who worked on Tangled.

Few More Gesture Drawings

Well, These are some of the sketches, that I was regularly drawing in my sketch book. I just didn't find time to upload here. So now I am putting them all together. These gesture drawing are done as fast as possible. Just so that I can capture the gesture and attitude of the characters and not worry about the finer details as told in The Drawn to Life ( Book).

I was trying explore the different characteristics of this guy and write it down, as I was drawing. Very much inspired from the character - Gru ( Despicable Me ).

I can't really remeber the show I have drawn this picture from but he was really hilarious!! :)

Tried drawing Angelina Jolie as I was watching the trailer of her new movie - The Tourist. Check out in the beginning around 0:04 in the following trailer. :)
